Having little or no focus will prevent you from ever being a successful home business owner – and that’s a promise . There is so much information available on the Internet that it becomes very easy to lose your focus.

Most new Internet marketers will start off with a flimsy plan in place, before a ‘guru’ emails them a promotion for a new product that promises success. The ‘newbie’ buys said product, and starts to work their way through this new course……UNTIL another marketer sends another promotion with another new system for making money. Newbie then shifts focus onto the new ‘no work involved’ product.

This is a sign of a severe lack of focus, and if this process continues this Internet marketer will never make any money – but will definitely be spending lots if it!

I know this because this newbie was once……ME! Months, if not years, were wasted buying product after product. This experience – and the lesson I learned – is the main reason I am writing the Home Business A to Z course. If you follow the process through to the end you will build a profitable Internet business.

Only you can commit to focusing on the course though. I cannot force you to read to the end and take action. Of course, I will try and make it as interesting as possible for you, but I can’t promise anything! What I CAN promise however, is that you will only learn the no-holds barred truth from me. No fluff, no filler, just the facts.

Whatever course of action you decide to take, you must remain true to yourself, and your goals. Stay focused. Have a plan, and stick to it. The result will be…….PROFITS.

I thought I would write a few notes on what separates a successful home business, to a unsuccessful one. But first, we should discuss what defines success….

Success is determined by each of you. You decide what is successful and what isn’t. For Joe, simply making a profit at all could be deemed a success, but his friend Jane may not class herself as successful until she is making at least £1,000 per month. Some of you may have a figure in mind, others may prefer to define success in non-monetry terms, and that’s fine too.

The important fact to remember, is that I can not tell you whether you are a success or not. Personality Traits of a Successful Internet Marketer

So, on to the main focus of this post. How would you describe a successful home business owner? This is my attempt;

A successful home business owner formulates and follows a plan, sets goals, and TAKES ACTION in order to achieve them. He/she believes in their abilities, and commits to learning new skills when required, and will do anything within his/her power to achieve set goals.

Now, that is a very basic description of how I’d describe someone who is – or will be – a successful Internet marketer/home business owner. I could add more, but I’m hopeful that you agree that these are the main points.

So, are you this person? If you can honestly say that you are all of the above then you can achieve your dreams with your Internet business. If, however, you are NOT all of the above then you need to work on yourself before your home business.

Of course I am not implying that you cannot be successful. Let me share a personal story with you;

I had been trying to make money online for 3 years before I made a single penny (or cent for those on the other side of the Atlantic!). Yes, that’s right, 3 LOOOOOONG YEARS!

It didn’t take me that long because I didn’t know how to write an article, or upload a website, or how to market my business. I learned these skills within a month or so. It was my personality that prevented my success, or more specifically, a lack of action.

I didn’t plan, I didn’t set goals, and I certainly didn’t believe that I was ever going to be a success, but at the same time, I was annoyed that I wasn’t making money. Is this you? Snap out of it! I wasted 3 years acting like this, but within a month of planning and taking action I made some cash. Not a lot, but it was a start.

If you have so far been unsuccessful with your home business, take a long, hard look at how you have been treating your home business.

• Have you set goals?
• Have you formulated a plan to achieve those goals?
• Have you followed this plan through to completion?
• Do you believe that you will be a success?
• Are you focused on your business?

‘The Definitive Guide to Starting Your Home Business’ will prepare you for a successful home business, both mentally, and physically (i.e. armed with the correct knowledge – I don’t mean going to the gym!).
